Jamaica Inn Foundation
The Jamaica Inn Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established to provide support to our local community by means of assisting with the education and wellbeing of our youth as well as aiding with the ongoing preservation of our marine environs and supporting several local charitable organizations.
Travel with a Purpose
Thoughtfully designed with sustainability at the forefront, eco-conscious travelers now have the opportunity to not only enjoy the beauty of Jamaica, but actively participate in preserving it and ‘giving back’ to the local community of Ocho Rios. This Travel with a Purpose initiative supports Jamaica Inn’s pledge to be carbon neutral by 2026 and goes hand-in-hand with our ‘Pack for a Purpose’ program.

*these activities are specific to certain days, please check with the hotel regarding availability
Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project
The organisation facilitates both on and off-site turtle hatching to spread awareness about the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle. The project’s huge success has resulted in more than 100 nests and 16,000 hatchlings being recorded yearly on the Inn’s 700-ft private beach. During their stay guests are invited to partake in a one-to-one session with turtle concierge, Mr. Mel Tennant, to learn and assist with conservation efforts for this endangered species.
White River Fish Sanctuary
The White River Fish Sanctuary, a marine association comprising local fisherman, hotel owners and local businesses, is dedicated to restoring the pristine beauty of the Jamaican reefs. Guests can now benefit from some of the best snorkelling sightings in the Caribbean. Funding from the Jamaica Inn Foundation enables the WRFS to achieve its goals including buying equipment, supporting daily operations and salaries of wardens who ensure the enforcement of the boundaries.
Teddy Tucker Scholarship Fund
The Jamaica Inn Family continues to celebrate the life and legacy of our dearly beloved Herbert Tucker affectionately known as ‘Teddy” who was the heartbeat of our Beach Bar for 62 years. In honour of Teddy, The Jamaica Inn Foundation established the Teddy Tucker Scholarship Fund, a non-profit fund dedicated to helping Jamaica Inn families provide the necessary skills, training and education for their children who wish to pursue a career in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
Fern Grove Basic School
Jamaica Inn partners with local Fern Grove Basic school to support on a variety of projects – facility upgrades, and our ‘Pack with a Purpose’ initiative.
